Where can I find an up-to-date list of destinations served by Air Canada Flights?
The military discount varies depending on which program you apply to. Members of Canadian Forces will receive a 10% discount off all flights and members of Veterans Affairs Canada will receive a 15% discount off all flights. How much can I save with this program?
In order to be eligible for savings with ACES, you must be an active-duty military member. And as far as how much you’ll save, that will depend on what type of seat and destination you’re flying to or from. But if your travel plans fit into one of their designated zones (which includes most US cities), savings could reach up to $500 per round trip when flying Air Canada Economy Class. If you’re looking to save even more, Air Canada Business Class service offers savings up to $2,000 per round trip. Also keep in mind that all types of active-duty personnel can take advantage of certain flight options under ACES including rebooking and same-day standby changes (as long as there’s availability).
How long is the promotion valid?
The promotion will be valid until December 31, 2013. Please note that you must register and provide documentation of your eligibility before traveling, but that your documentation will not be verified until after you travel. What if there are multiple people traveling together who need to check Air Canada Baggage?
If you’re traveling with others and you all need to check Air Canada Bags, you may save by booking one ticket and requesting that your Air Canada Baggage be placed in a specific compartment. You can also use Air Canada’s online travel organizer, which allows you to create your own itinerary with as many flights as you like. The site is free, but it only covers flights booked directly through Air Canada Flights; there’s a $10 service fee if you pay through an agent or through Expedia or Priceline. What happens if a flight gets overbooked, can I still use my discount?
In most cases, yes. We may need to re-accommodate you onto a different flight date, but we’ll do our best to keep your itinerary intact. You can also choose to cancel your trip and receive an Air Canada Refund, or transfer your Air Canada Flights Booking to another person. If you’ve already purchased travel insurance when purchasing your flight, you will automatically be covered in case of an overbooking situation; otherwise, it is highly recommended that you purchase travel insurance before flying with us.
Do I have to fly out and back from Toronto using my discount?
No, you don’t. While you’ll get a lower rate if you choose to fly from and back to Toronto, your Air Canada Vacations discount can be used at other Canadian cities as well. Please note that taxes and fees are not included in any of our discounted rates, so it is best to add additional funds when booking your flight. This allows you to avoid any unexpected costs that may come up during your vacation (like parking or airport upgrades). That being said, we recommend using one credit card for all of your purchases – no matter how small they may be – just in case something happens with your luggage while traveling.
Can I apply my discount when traveling in Air Canada First Class or Business Class?
Yes, your discount will apply when traveling in either class. However, discounted fares are not available in Air Canada Premium Class or Prestige Class. To upgrade to these classes, you must pay at least 50% of their published fare value.
